The Exercise Science Instructor is responsible for the instruction; instructional counseling; academic advising; serving on various committees; coordinating and/or participating in school based community events and service-learning activities within the Exercise Science program. Core responsibilities of this position include: Teach assigned courses including First Aid/CPR, activity courses such as archery, camping adventures, individual exercise program, and other courses within the Exercise Science/Physical Education Department. Courses may be taught days, evenings, weekends, online and/or hybrid. Advise Exercise Science/Physical and Health Education Teaching majors and assist students with successful transfer to 4 year institutions. Assess student learning. Work collaboratively as a member of the Exercise Science department and the School of Health Science and Wellness. Work with the Program Director to develop and modify the Exercise Science course offerings and curriculum to expand opportunities for our students. Assist with the Home School PE Program--approximately 40 students that are home schooled--the Exercise Science Department and our majors plan and implement, and evaluate age appropriate, best practice, physical education activities for these students and their parents (as applicable). Assist the Program Director, LCCC Admissions office, and other LCCC entities in recruitment, retention, and graduation of Exercise Science majors. Use the college Learning Management System--currently D2L--to assist students in all facets of learning regardless of the format of the class--face to face, online, hybrid. Serve on the Exercise Science Advisory Committee and other college committees. Other tasks may be assigned based on contemporary institutional need.

Teaching
Teach course load per college/school/department policy and procedures.
Review, revise, and create materials for use in instruction as part of the course load.
Prepare and maintain classroom.
Teach day, evening, or weekend courses as determined by school/department needs.
Develop, implement, and adhere to an approved Master Course syllabus for each course taught and provide a copy to the division office at the beginning of every semester.
Explain the syllabus contents to students in each class.
Use the college Learning Management System--currently D2L--to assist students in all facets of learning regardless of the format of the class--face to face, online, hybrid.
Meet classes punctually, for the specified time, and utilize appropriate teaching techniques and methods for classroom and/or online instruction.
Evaluate students'' performance fairly and consistently, return student work promptly to promote maximum learning, assign grades, and submit grades to Student Records and program files.
Maintain complete and accurate records of students'' performance and attendance as required by law.
Promote student retention.
Assist with the Home School PE Program--approximately 40 students that are home schooled and the Exercise Science Department and our majors work with students and their parents in the planning and implementation of age appropriate, best practice, physical education activities.
Follow college, school, and department practices regarding the review, selection, ordering, and inventorying of textbooks, instructional materials, and equipment.
Plan course offerings to best meet students'' needs and minimize students'' scheduling conflicts.
Assist with the preparation of college catalog and class schedule.
Advising
Advise Exercise Science/Physical and Health Education Teaching majors and assist students with successful transfer to 4 year institutions.
Assist the Program Director, LCCC Admissions office, and other LCCC entities in recruitment of Exercise Science/PETE majors.
Advise an assigned number of advisees and maintain accurate advising records in accordance with college procedures.
Maintain a minimum of seven (7) hours per week for student assistance and advising using varying days and different hours.
Post and maintain a schedule which includes teaching assignments, office hours, and regular meeting times (provide this schedule to the school administrative assistant by the designated deadline.
Mentor adjunct faculty as determined by school or department needs.
Participate in students'' orientation and registration within the faculty contract year.
Curriculum Development
Assist the Program Director in the revamping of Exercise Science curriculum to expand opportunities for students.
Serve on the Exercise Science Advisory Committee and other college committees'
Participate in ongoing, systematic and documented assessment of student learning for all courses, program competencies and institutional competencies.
Assist with developing, reviewing or updating program materials such as handbook, website, or brochures.
Participate in and complete program assessment for own discipline and general education as applicable.
Actively participate in maintaining program accreditation and Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements.
Service/Professional Development
Attend and participate in program and school meetings.
Participate in college-sponsored and department in-service activities and meetings.
Actively serve on college, school, and community education-related or professional committees as requested.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Master''s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Outdoor Education, Physical Education, Athletic Management/Training or comparable field.
Three years experience in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Outdoor Education, Physical Education, Athletic Management/Training or comparable field.
One year teaching experience in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Outdoor Education, Physical Education, Athletic Management/Training or comparable field.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years collegiate teaching experience in any of these specialty areas--Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Outdoor Education, Physical Education, Athletic Management/Training or related field.
Experience with instructional technology--D2L, Smartboards, online resources, etc.
Certified to teach First Aid/CPR and/or willingness to attain certification prior to Fall 2014 semester.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
