The schedule is variable but primarily on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 10:00 am for Adult Swimming and for Children's Swimming:
10:00 to 10:45 am Level 1
10:45 to 11:30 am Level 2
11:30 to 12:15 am Level 1
12:15 to 1:00 am Level 2

Summary:
This position will plan, organize and lead adult and/or children's swimming and water aerobics classes for LCCC Life Enrichment. Some course titles, content, times, and dates will be pre-determined by the Life Enrichment program based on community need, and some courses may be created or adapted in the future. Current scheduled courses taught by this position include, but are not limited to, Beginning Swimming I and II, Coed Adult Water Workout, and Adult Swimming Lessons.
Compensation: $10.66 per hour.
Screening Date: Position Open Until Filled
Start Date: January 2015
Ensures a safe environment for everyone in the pool area
Instructs student swimmers in courses for both water aerobics and swimming lesson courses.
Knows and complies with all safety regulations and emergency procedures
Knows the rules of pool sanitation and care in accordance with State Law and LCCC
Interact with a diverse group of students in a professional manner. Prepare and present quality, topic-related information to students
Coordinate regularly with the Life Enrichment office regarding the details and status of the course as well as required paperwork such as the submission of course evaluations and student liability waivers.
Attends any required trainings with the Life Enrichment Program
Teach Beginning Swimming I and II, Coed Adult Water Workout, and Adult Swimming Lessons and potentially new courses.
Minimum:
At least one year of experience teaching swimming courses.
Swimming Instructor certification (Red Cross, YMCA, or other)
CPR and First Aid Certification
Preferred:
Life Guard Certification
Experience working with children
