Summary: Candidate will possess solid skills needed in maintaining of Earth Station Operations (ESO) systems. The scope of this job includes fabrication, installation, maintenance and repair of the radio-frequency (RF) equipment used in large-scale satellite downlink and uplink operations. The job requires the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra and the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical material. Will be required to support and develop department policies and procedures. Candidate must have prior experience with and the ability to use test equipment such as multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and scalar network analyzers. Candidate must be able to function robustly on rotational shift schedules within a team environment. This job will require occasional work in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 0 degrees, and areas that are slippery or have uneven surfaces. Rotating shifts, holiday and weekend shift work as well as outside work during inclement weather will be required.

Responsibilities:
Ensures continuous customer support to all EchoStar, Dish Network and all other internal and external customers.
Perform periodic walk-through to check the health of all the Earth Station Operations equipment.
Conduct periodic cleaning and servicing of all ESO equipment, including antennas, transmitters, frequency converters, switching (redundancy) units, and antenna control equipment.
Complete annual antenna maintenance; painting, cleaning, lubrication, and overhaul of antenna tracking and heating systems. Also, ensure continuous upkeep of the outdoor antenna systems.
Perform automatic antenna deice maintenance and manual broom sweep removal of snow and ice from antennas.
Tune High-Power Amplifiers (HPAs)
Program, trouble shoot and repair of Traveling Wave Tube Amplifiers(TWTA's)
Performs fabrication and installation high power amplifier installation and adjustments, cables, and fiber-optic systems.
Performs some component-level troubleshooting and repair of electronics systems.
Trouble and repair frequency converters, RF switching units, Antenna Control Units (ACUs), Low-Noise Amplifiers (LNAs) and Low-Noise Block Down converters (LNBs) and other various ESO equipment.
Uses monitor and control systems to trend data on the health of the Earth Station and its equipment.
Basic Requirements:
Must have a minimum of four years of experience working with RF/Satellite uplink equipment or military work experience in communications and electronics fields.
Completion of a basic electronic course from an accredited technical school/university or a military electronics technical school
Ability to work a rotating shift, as required by the needs of a fast paced 24x7x365 environment
US citizenship or Permanent Resident status
Ability to use a short wave radio to communicate with coworkers
Ability to read, and interpret technical procedures, manuals, and schematics
Test equipment aptitude (Spectrum analyzers, signal generators, synthesized sweepers)
Preferred
Qualifications:
Associates Degree and/or related electronic or communication systems experience.
A team player who works well within a team environment and has the capability to meet the demands of rotational shift work
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge of antenna systems including gearbox and drive mechanisms.
