Provide quality learning opportunities that assist the student to meet their educational goals and career aspirations in the accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Deliver student-centered, hands-on, active instruction in didactic and laboratory courses. Responsible for coordinating and evaluating effectiveness of the clinical affiliate sites to include communicating program requirements, course objectives and academic expectations to the clinical sites. Prepare clinical site rotations for students, and conduct site visits during the affiliation to meet with clinical instructors. Participate in academic advising, serve on various committees, participate in professional development, coordinate and/or participate in school based community events and service learning activities; work collaboratively as a member of the program team in assessment and continuous improvement activities.

Teaching
Teach course load per college/school/department policy and procedures
Assist with the review, revision, and create materials for use in instruction as part of the course load
Prepare and maintain classroom or/and lab facilities
Teach day, evening, or weekend courses as determined by school/department needs
Develop, implement, and adhere to an approved Master Course syllabus for each course taught
and provide a copy to the division office at the beginning of every semester
Explain the syllabus contents to students in each class
Meet classes punctually, for the specified time, and utilize appropriate teaching techniques and
methods for classroom and/or online instruction
Evaluate students'' performance fairly and consistently, return student work promptly to promote
maximum learning, assign grades, and submit grades to Student Records and program files
Maintain complete and accurate records of students'' performance and attendance as required by
law
Promote student retention
Professional Development
o Learn to integrate technology in the teaching process
o Attend or participate in workshops, conferences, or seminars related to one''s field or to meet
accreditation standards
Participate in external visitations to improve professional competency
Pursue additional course work or an advanced degree or certification program related to one''s field
(limited to academic credit from an accredited institution)
Professional presentation of an example(s) of one''s area of expertise to colleagues
Service
Comply with college policy regarding required number of contracted days
Advise an assigned number of advisees and maintain accurate advising records in accordance with college procedures
Maintain a minimum of seven (7) hours per week for student assistance and advising using varying days and different hours
Post and maintain a schedule which includes teaching assignments, office hours, and regular meeting times (provide this schedule to the school administrative assistant by the designated deadline)
Mentor adjunct faculty as determined by school or department needs
Participate in students'' orientation and registration within the faculty contract year
Attend and participate in program and school meetings
Participate in college-sponsored and department in-service activities and meetings
Maintain currency in all mandatory college/program/clinic training
Participate in ongoing, systematic and documented assessment of student learning for all courses,
program competencies and institutional competencies
Assist with developing, reviewing or updating program materials such as handbook, website, or
brochures
Participate in and complete program assessment for own discipline and general education as applicable
Actively participate in maintaining program accreditation and Higher Leaming Commission (HLC)
requirements
Aid and facilitate recruitment/retention efforts as outlined by college-wide and divisional
recruitment/retention plans
Initiate or participate in the development of courses and curricula
Participate at least annually in the Physical Therapist Assistant Curriculum Plan review and make
appropriate modifications
Follow college''s, school's, and department's practices regarding the review, selection, ordering, and
inventorying of textbooks, instructional materials, and equipment
Plan course offerings to best meet students'' needs and minimize students'' scheduling conflicts
Assist with the preparation of college catalog and class schedule
Actively serve on college, school, diagnostic medical physical therapist assistant department and advisory committee,
community education-related or professional committees as requested by the School Dean for the benefit
f the college
Participate in program articulation with other colleges, schools, and businesses
Minimum
Qualifications:
Terminal degree in Physical Therapy and a minimum of 5 years of recent physical therapy experience.
Preferred
Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy and Wyoming License
Prior teaching experience
Earned status as an APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor
Experience with online instruction
