Role Overview AMEC Environment & Infrastructure is seeking a Construction Inspector for a large commercial project located in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The project will be for at least 16 months and possibly 4 years. AMEC is also looking to staff inspection position(s) for USAF project centered in Cheyenne, Wyoming, positions would start in January.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor the work of contractors to ensure quality control aspects are performed and contract compliance for major building elements: grading, utilities, foundations, slabs, structural steel, site work, plumbing and electrical, roofing, and other building systems, under the direction of a Quality Engineer and Construction Manager.
Understands QC tests and Inspection requirements.
Advises and notifies CM team and contractors of non-compliance issues and recommends adjustments to operations.
Takes field measurements of pay items.
Checks placement of and performs tests on construction materials; checks lines, grades, dimensions, and elevations using standard survey and field engineering equipment.
Oversees and enforces the installation of erosion/siltation controls and safety devices.
Maintains project records; including daily diaries, NCR list, materials notebooks, as-built plans, and pay quantity records.

Role Requirements
HS Diploma
5 years of inspection experience (preferred major buildings) including understanding of plans, specifications, pay requests, contract requirements, and project documentation.
Working knowledge of building code requirements (IBC/ICC) and of mathematics including algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
Knowledge in the use of contract management software and Microsoft platform (Excel, Word, MS Project, and Outlook). Working skill in operating computer equipment, software programs and field inspection equipment.
Ability to communicate effectively with CM personnel, QA personnel, and contractor and subcontractor personnel.
Must pass drug test, fit-for-duty physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
Preferred Qualifications
8 plus years of working on large building projects in inspection, CM capacity.
BS in Construction Management or other engineering discipline
ICC Certifications for Special Inspection of Structural Steel, Reinforcing Steel, Concrete, and other Items
Physical Demands
Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds.
Must be able to walk over uneven terrain
